In the lead-up to the 2026 municipal elections, the Rassemblement National (RN) list in Carpentras has formed an alliance with two other nationalist lists, significantly improving its electoral prospects. This strategic collaboration comes after Hervé de Lépinau, the RN candidate, secured 26.71% of the vote in the first round, positioning him as a strong contender to change the political landscape of Carpentras, which has been governed by the left for the past 18 years.

The alliance includes Bertrand de La Chesnais, who has previously aligned himself with the RN and the Reconquête party, garnering 14.33% of the first-round votes and bringing additional supporters into the fold. Furthermore, four candidates from the list of Christian Richaud Simoni, categorized as 'far-right' by the Ministry of the Interior, have joined forces, bolstering the coalition's strength.
