Brazil maintains a large flow of tourists to the USA, despite Trump and high dollar
Despite high dollar rates and stricter immigration policies, Brazil continues to send a significant number of tourists to the USA.
Despite high exchange rates and stringent immigration policies under the Trump administration, the flow of Brazilian tourists to the United States remains robust. In 2025, over 1.9 million tourists from Brazil entered the U.S., maintaining Brazil's status as one of the top six sending countries for visitors. This trend showcases the resilience of Brazilian travelers, who continue to navigate the challenges posed by foreign policy and economics.
The statistics reveal that even with the uncertainties surrounding Trump's presidency and a strong dollar, the influx of Brazilian tourists has barely fluctuated. For instance, in 2024, just before Trump commenced another presidential term, the number of Brazilian tourists only increased by 0.1% compared to the previous year. This stability suggests that, irrespective of political climate, the appeal of U.S. tourism remains intact for Brazilian citizens.
Fred Dixon, CEO of Brand USA, highlighted that there were no changes in U.S. visa policies affecting Brazilian travelers. He emphasized that Brazilians continue to enter and exit the U.S. without significant obstacles, indicating that the ongoing relationship between the two nations still supports tourism. This optimistic outlook for Brazilian travel to the U.S. underscores a complex interplay of economics, politics, and cultural ties that withstand even challenging circumstances.
