Man is suspected of shooting girlfriend and stepdaughter in Bahia

Two women were shot in the head during a disagreement in Medeiros Neto, Bahia, with the main suspect being the boyfriend of one of the victims.

On Tuesday, October 17th, two women were shot in the head during a heated argument in the town of Medeiros Neto, located in southern Bahia, Brazil. The victims, identified as Andreia Maria Porto de Almeida, 40, and her daughter Elouyse Porto Almeida, 20, were both injured. According to the Military Police, the primary suspect is Andreia's partner, Itamar de Jesus Porto, who has not been reachable for comment, prompting concerns about the case's legal aspects.

The incident occurred amid an unspecified dispute between the couple, during which Itamar allegedly pulled the trigger before fleeing the scene. The police report that nevertheless the two victims were quickly taken to a local health facility, their health status has not been publicly disclosed. In the aftermath of the incident, the situation escalated when Itamar was involved in a confrontation with military police the following morning, where he sustained injuries from gunfire.

The case is currently under investigation by the Civil Police of Bahia as a double attempted homicide.
