Staff Reductions: Parking Meters at Karlsfelder Lake

Parking at Karlsfelder Lake will now be managed through machines and digital payment instead of personnel collecting fees.

At Karlsfelder Lake, significant changes in parking management are being implemented as personnel will no longer be collecting parking fees. According to the Dachau district office, new parking meters are being installed across the three main parking lots to facilitate this transition towards a more automated payment system. Visitors will now have the option to pay for parking either at the machine or via a digital platform, reflecting a shift towards modernization in managing parking facilities.

During the bathing season, which runs from May 1 to September 30, the parking fee remains unchanged at four euros per day. However, there will be a new seasonal pricing structure introduced for the off-season, where parking will cost two euros. This alteration is aimed at improving the parking experience and accommodating the varying influx of visitors during different times of the year.

Additionally, a notable perk for environmentally friendly transportation is that electric vehicles will be allowed to park for free for up to two hours. This initiative not only encourages the use of electric cars but also aligns with broader efforts to promote sustainability in local recreational areas. The changes at Karlsfelder Lake reflect a growing trend across various parks and public spaces towards reducing personnel costs while embracing technological innovations to streamline operations and enhance visitor convenience.
