Ukrainians repel Russian motorized attack

The Ukrainian army successfully repelled a Russian attack involving motorcycles near Pokrovsk, marking the first use of such vehicles by Russian forces in three months.

On Wednesday, the Ukrainian army announced that it had successfully thwarted a Russian attack in the Pokrovsk direction, which involved an unprecedented use of motorcycles by Russian forces for the first time in three months. The 7th Airborne Corps of the Ukrainian army reported that the last time the invaders deployed these vehicles was back in December 2025, during an attempted incursion into a village using two buggies.

In this recent assault, the Russians attempted to strike the village of Grishina with a total of 13 motorized units. The Ukrainian forces were able to destroy nine of these vehicles before they could even reach the village, while the remaining four were neutralized within Grishina itself. The reported casualties for the Russian side included at least 17 troops, indicating a significant loss for the attacking forces in contrast to their tactical approach.

Additionally, within the Mirnograd district, there was a concurrent Russian attempt to launch an attack using two armored personnel carriers. Both of these carriers were also destroyed, leading to the elimination of their crews. This reported activity underscores the ongoing intensity and shifts in tactics from Russian forces, as well as the persistent resilience and capability of the Ukrainian military to effectively respond to such threats.
