Early Wednesday morning, a fire broke out in the Fishermen's Village in Cubatão, São Paulo, destroying seven wooden homes and affecting the local community. The Fire Department was alerted at approximately 3:15 am, dispatching four vehicles and eleven firefighters to control the blaze in the Beco dos Coqueiros area. Fortunately, residents had managed to extinguish most of the flames before the fire crews arrived, limiting the damage to approximately 150 square meters.

During the incident, a 36-year-old man suffered second-degree burns on his back and required medical attention. He was transported to the Santa Casa de Santos for treatment after being rescued by firefighters, who reported that he was conscious during the rescue. The firefighters conducted cooling and overhaul procedures before leaving the scene, ensuring that the risk of flare-ups was minimized.
