Eduardo Moscoso emphasizes the crucial role of clubs in training young female football players for Ecuador's historic qualification for the U-20 Women's World Cup in Poland.
Eduardo Moscoso, the coach of Ecuador's U-20 women's national football team, has praised the significant contributions made by local clubs such as Católica, Liga de Quito, and Independiente del Valle in preparing female players for international competition. Following the team's qualification for the U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland in 2026, Moscoso highlighted that the groundwork laid in these clubs from the U-13 to U-20 levels has been pivotal for their success. He asserts that the quality of training and development within these clubs has strengthened the national team.
Moscoso pointed out that Ecuador boasts three teams qualifying for the World Cups up to 2026, including the U-17 team which recently competed in the Dominican Republic and Morocco, and the U-20 squad now set to represent the nation in Poland. He believes this robust foundation in youth development empowers young players to dream about competing at the highest levels, and many aspire to join elite teams abroad, ultimately serving as role models for future generations of female players.
Furthermore, Moscoso acknowledged the efforts of the Ecuadorian Football Federation in organizing tournaments for younger age groups, such as U-14 and U-16 leagues. These initiatives are critical in maintaining a streamlined pathway for talent development and ensuring that young female players receive the necessary exposure and experience to excel in international arenas.
