Africa: Afreximbank Announces Opening of Registration for 2026 Certificate of Trade Finance in Africa

Afreximbank Academy has launched registration for the 2026 Certificate of Trade Finance in Africa to enhance trade-related skills among banking professionals and practitioners.

The Afreximbank Academy (AFRACAD) announced that registration is now open for its 2026 Certificate of Trade Finance in Africa (COTFIA). This programme aims to boost the continent's trade finance capacity by improving trade-related skills while addressing essential capacity gaps. Banking professionals and others interested in trade finance are invited to register for the course, which is positioned to help Africa compete more effectively in global markets. The registration will remain open until May 31, 2026.

AFRACAD's initiative is part of a collaborative effort with other educational and financial institutions, including Factors Chain International and the American University in Cairo. The training programme is meticulously designed to help participants deepen their understanding of international trade finance and has been regularly updated to reflect best practices. Notably, the curriculum also considers the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which is on course to significantly impact trade across the continent.

By providing this focused educational opportunity, the Afreximbank Academy aims to not only enhance individual capabilities but also to contribute to the overall improvement of trade operations in Africa. The expectations surrounding the AfCFTA highlight the urgency for more skilled professionals in trade finance, emphasizing how essential such training programs are in empowering the continent’s economic prospects.
