A gold store in Heinola was broken into on Tuesday evening, with the perpetrator escaping with several items from the display window.
On Tuesday evening, a gold store located in the center of Heinola experienced a break-in, with the burglar using a crowbar to smash the display window and steal items inside. The police received an emergency report around 8:30 PM, noting that the suspect fled on foot towards Rantapuisto, where he is believed to have left the area in a vehicle. So far, the police have not apprehended the suspect, who is described as slender, between 170 to 180 cm tall, wearing dark clothing, and carrying a backpack.
Pentti Piiroinen, the CEO of the jewelry store, received immediate updates about the break-in and arrived at the scene before 9 PM. He expressed his surprise at the incident, mentioning that vandalism of this nature had not been seen in over 20 years. As a seasoned professional in the industry since the 1980s, Piiroinen noted that such occurrences are relatively rare in recent times, and he plans to enhance the store's security camera system within legal limits to prevent future incidents.
