"Teacher Kicked Students for Not Rehearsing for the Annual Event"... Preschool Teacher Sent to Prosecutor
A preschool teacher has been sent to the prosecutor's office for allegedly kicking students due to their failure to rehearse for an upcoming annual event.
A preschool teacher has been referred to prosecutors following allegations of physical abuse against two students for not participating in rehearsal activities for a school event. The Gangwon Provincial Police have charged the teacher under the Child Welfare Law, citing the mistreatment of children within a welfare facility. According to reports, the incidents occurred last November when the teacher took six-year-olds N and D to the office and kicked them for not rehearsing due to distractions.
The revelations came to light when N confided in her parents just a day before the event about being summoned to the teacher's office where she was kicked in the abdomen. N conveyed that she was pushed back by the impact and, despite being in pain and crying, was reprimanded repeatedly. Police later verified the abuse through footage from closed-circuit television (CCTV), which showed D exiting the teacher’s office in tears, and confirmed D's account of also being kicked multiple times.
Unfortunately, the CCTV installed in both the office and the classroom did not have a working connection to allow for video review, and there were no other witnesses present during the incident besides the teacher and the students involved. The teacher has reportedly denied the allegations, asserting that she has never acted in a threatening or inappropriate manner towards the children.
