According to a study by the Korea National Park Service, by 2025, visitors to 23 national parks in South Korea are expected to spend around 3.5 trillion won, which translates to approximately 82,000 won per person. The data showed that about 43.31 million visitors are anticipated in these parks, with varying spending levels depending on the number of visitors per park. Bukhansan National Park is expected to have the highest number of visitors at 7.53 million, leading to the largest spending of 623.5 billion won, followed by Gyeongju, Hallyeohaesang, Jirisan, Palgongsan, and Mudeungsan national parks that each also saw significant visitor spending.
