MDA: A man and woman in their 70s were killed in Ramat Gan as a result of gunfire from Iran

A couple in their 70s was killed in Ramat Gan by shrapnel from a missile fired from Iran, with additional injuries reported in nearby areas.

Two individuals, a man and a woman in their 70s, tragically lost their lives in Ramat Gan after being struck by shrapnel from a missile that originated from Iran. This incident occurred at their home, where the explosive device pierced the roof and detonated in the living room, indicating the severity and accuracy of the attack. Local emergency services, including MDA, responded to the scene, underscoring the urgency of the situation.

The police commander for the Tel Aviv district, Nitzav Chaim Sargroff, reported that the elderly couple likely did not have enough time to reach a fortified shelter (Mamad) available in their home as the missile struck. This reflects not only the immediate danger civilians face but also raises concerns about preparedness and response to such cross-border attacks and the effectiveness of existing warning systems.

In addition to the fatalities, five other individuals were reported injured from shrapnel in multiple locations, including Kfar Qassem, Petah Tikva, and Bnei Brak. These injuries indicate a wider impact beyond the primary strike zone, demonstrating the expansive reach of such military actions and the risks posed to civilian populations in Israel, leading to calls for increased defensive measures and international scrutiny of missile attacks originating from Iran.
