Civil Police Operation Arrests Suspect Linked to Drug Trafficking Gang in SP Interior

A suspect linked to a drug trafficking gang was arrested in an operation by the Civil Police in Itapeva, SP, as part of a wider investigation into organized crime.

A recent operation conducted by the Civil Police's Drug Investigations Division (Dise) in Itapeva, São Paulo, led to the arrest of a suspect believed to be linked to the drug trafficking faction Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC). This operation, named 'Constrição', aims to dismantle the criminal organization involved in the distribution of illicit drugs in the interior of the state.

The investigation, which commenced in 2024 after significant drug seizures in Buri, focused on identifying the key players in the logistics and distribution of narcotics within the region. Over the span of more than a year, police gathered substantial evidence, leading to the issuance of search and seizure warrants, as well as two preventive arrest warrants. While one of the warrants has been executed, the other suspect remains at large, indicating ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the area.

The arrested individual is reported to have played a leadership role within the PCC, underlining the serious nature of this operation and its implications for public safety in São Paulo. With continued investigations and arrests, law enforcement aims to disrupt the operations of one of Brazil's most notorious criminal organizations, thereby impacting the local drug trade significantly.
