In a harrowing case that has shaken the Sydney community, police have released new CCTV footage as part of their ongoing investigation into the kidnapping and murder of 85-year-old Chris Baghsarian. Mr. Baghsarian was mistakenly abducted from his North Ryde home on February 13, 2023, in what authorities believe was a botched attempt to extort a local businessman. The intended target was a relative of businessman Dimitri Stepanyan, who lived in the same area, highlighting the tragic error in identifying Mr. Baghsarian as the desired victim.

Following Mr. Baghsarian's abduction, disturbing footage surfaced showing him being tortured in a safehouse, alongside a demand for a ransom of $50 million. The distressing episodes culminated in his remains being discovered on a golf course in Pitt Town, 11 days after his disappearance.
