Pakistani Minister of Information to Al Jazeera: We are ready to mediate between the US and Iran

The Pakistani Minister of Information stated that Pakistan is willing to mediate between the US and Iran to de-escalate tensions in the region.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Pakistani Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar expressed Pakistan's readiness to act as a mediator between Iran, the United States, and regional countries to reduce rising tensions. He emphasized the strong relations Pakistan maintains with regional nations, suggesting that Pakistan has experience in mediating conflicts effectively. Tarar also indicated that he is engaged in discussions with various partners regarding this mediation role.

Tarar responded to Iranian officials' dismissal of diplomatic avenues until the US meets their demands but refrained from commenting on the matter directly. He highlighted Pakistan's solidarity with countries that have faced aggression from Iran, including Qatar, the UAE, and Jordan. Additionally, he pointed out that the collective stance of all Islamic nations is against the violence directed towards Iran.

The Minister warned that prolonging the conflict for additional weeks could have severe consequences for the global economy. He reiterated that both Pakistan and neighboring countries are advocating for de-escalation, reflecting a shared desire for stability in the region, while also underscoring Pakistan's solid diplomatic relations with Qatar and the UAE, alongside Iran itself.
