Alice case: girl was shot to death after a collision between the criminals' car and the family's car, in Serra; order came from prison

The investigation into the shooting death of 6-year-old Alice Rodrigues, which occurred during a violent attack linked to organized crime, has concluded with multiple indictments, including those of a gang leader currently imprisoned.

The Civil Police of Espírito Santo has completed its investigation into the tragic shooting death of 6-year-old Alice Rodrigues, who was killed when gunfire erupted during a confrontation involving her family's vehicle and criminals in the Balneário de Carapebus area of Serra, located in Grande Vitória. It was revealed that the violent attack was ordered by a drug trafficker currently incarcerated, highlighting the extent of organized crime's influence even from prison. Before the shooting began, a collision occurred between the criminals' car and the family’s car, which was returning from the beach, illustrating the chaotic and dangerous environment in which these violent encounters unfold.

As the investigation progressed, authorities identified a total of 14 individuals linked to the crime, with nine arrests made and five suspects still evading capture, all of whom are based in Rio de Janeiro. The attack took place on August 24, 2025, when Alice and her parents were returning from a family outing. Alice was struck in the head, resulting in her sad demise, while her father sustained minor injuries from gunfire and her mother, who was pregnant at the time, was injured by flying glass shrapnel. This heartbreaking incident draws attention to the ongoing conflicts tied to criminal factions in Brazil, particularly the rivalry involving the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC).

Alice's death casts a harsh light on the impact of organized crime on innocent lives and raises serious questions about safety in public spaces. The incident underscores the urgent need for authorities to address the pervasive violence in areas like Grande Vitória and beyond. Families should not have to fear for their lives while enjoying a day at the beach, making it imperative for law enforcement and community leaders to work together to create safer environments for their citizens.
