Land registration in Noida made easier with eye scan identification

In Noida, India, land registration will now be simplified and made more secure through eye (iris) scan identification instead of fingerprints.

In Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, the government has introduced a new facility to make land registration easier and more secure. The recent decision replaces the traditional use of thumbprints with iris scans for identification, addressing issues often faced by elderly individuals whose fingerprints may not be accurately read due to aging, dry skin, or worn fingers. This change aims to streamline the registration process and reduce delays caused by identification failures.

The introduction of iris scan machines in registration offices is expected to enhance the reliability of identifying individuals involved in land transactions. This system will ensure that buyers and sellers are correctly verified, thereby reducing the risk of fraudulent activities in land deals. The government has already mandated Aadhaar verification since February 2, further tightening the registration process to prevent fraudulent activities, and the iris scan will complement this verification.

The government plans to provide these iris scanning machines to all tehsils (sub-district administrative divisions) soon, aiming for a more robust and secure identification process in land registration. This progressive step reflects the administration's commitment to making bureaucratic processes more accessible and secure for the public, particularly benefiting those who have previously faced challenges in the system due to unreliable fingerprint identification.
