The UN's World Food Programme has issued a grave warning stating that over 45 million people in the Middle East may face hunger as a direct consequence of sustained conflicts in the region. Carl Skau, a top Swedish diplomat and Deputy Chief of WFP, emphasized that if hostilities continue into the summer, the number of affected individuals could increase dramatically. He highlighted that if the oil prices rise above $100 per barrel, further exacerbation of the hunger crisis is likely.
