From March 19, cemetery prices will change. Residents of this city will pay more
Starting March 19, cemetery fees in Wrocław will increase significantly, with some rates rising by approximately 39%.
A new pricing schedule for municipal cemeteries in Wrocław, Poland, will come into effect on March 19. This update is outlined in the Regulation No. 4493/26 by the Mayor of Wrocław, published on February 26, 2026, and includes increases in burial fees for various types of graves. The increase aims to adjust to rising costs associated with cemetery maintenance and services.
According to the new fee structure, the price for a single grave site will rise from 1300 PLN to 1800 PLN, reflecting an increase of about 39%. Similarly, the cost of deeper two-person graves will increase from 1800 PLN to 2500 PLN, while family plots will see a hike from 2200 PLN to 3000 PLN. Additionally, the burial fee for children under six will also rise, now costing 1100 PLN instead of 800 PLN. These changes seek to address the financial sustainability of cemetery services as the population continues to evolve.
As Wrocław implements these new costs, the local community may experience significant impacts, particularly among families planning funerals. With the rising prices, many residents may need to reconsider their options or seek alternative arrangements for burial, which could lead to broader discussions about public financial support for cemetery services and the accessibility of burial options for families in need. The adjustments will be monitored through community feedback as local authorities assess the implications of these changes on residents and future cemetery management.
