An investigation has been launched following the death of a woman and over 100 people who experienced symptoms of food poisoning after dining at a pizzeria in Pombal, Paraíba.
The Civil Police in Brazil has initiated an investigation into the death of a woman who exhibited symptoms of food poisoning after eating at La Favoritta pizzeria located in Pombal, Paraíba. More than 100 other individuals have reported similar ailments and sought medical attention, all of whom claim to have dined at the same restaurant. This alarming situation raises concerns about food safety and public health in the region.
Rodrigo Barbosa, the investigating officer, has stated that the owner of the pizzeria has already provided his testimony regarding the incident. Although the contents of the testimony remain undisclosed, investigations also include accounts from patients who have since recovered from their symptoms after receiving treatment at local healthcare facilities. The preliminary stage of the inquiry aims to uncover the extent of the food contamination and its consequences for the community.
In a further development, forensic examinations will be conducted on the body of the deceased woman, identified as 44-year-old Rayssa Maritein Bezerra e Silva, who passed away shortly after being admitted to the Regional Hospital of Pombal.
