The 1st Blue Heritage Summit is currently underway in Thessaloniki, Greece, from March 17-19, organized by BeyondCSR with the support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Macedonia and Thrace. This event gathers over 100 speakers from both Greece and abroad to discuss the theme 'Navigating Innovation at the Geopolitical Crossroads', focusing on the valuable contributions of the blue and circular economies towards achieving a climate-neutral future.

During the summit's opening discussions, Lina Liakou, the Global Director of the Resilient Cities Network, pointed out the numerous challenges faced by cities today, including various overlapping crises. She emphasized the importance of enhancing local government services and public administration functions to effectively tackle these issues. Furthermore, Michalis Hourdakis, a Member of Parliament for Thessaloniki, highlighted the importance of this three-day conference as an opportunity to learn from these discussions and shape future climate strategies in line with international goals.

The summit not only brings together a diverse group of speakers but also seeks to foster collaboration on policies that can strengthen cities' resilience to climate change while promoting economic development through sustainable practices.
