Bengal Elections: Kalita Majhi, who works door-to-door, has been made a candidate by the BJP
The BJP has announced Kalita Majhi as its candidate for the Ausgram assembly seat in West Bengal.
As the West Bengal assembly elections approach, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its first list of candidates, including Kalita Majhi for the Ausgram seat. Kalita, a resident of Mjhapukur Par in Ward Number 3 of Guskara municipality in East Bardhaman, previously worked as a domestic worker, and in dry cleaning to support her family. Coming from a Scheduled Caste (SC) background, her candidacy has sparked interest, especially as she begins her campaigning efforts. Notably, she previously ran in the 2021 West Bengal assembly elections under the BJP banner but lost in a challenging contest against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate.
