Referendum, Former M5s Group Leader D'Uva Votes Yes: "No to the Connection Between Politics and the Csm"
Francesco D'Uva, former group leader of the M5s, supports the judicial reform referendum, emphasizing the need to separate politics from the judiciary.
With just a few days left until the referendum on justice, the debate between proponents and opponents is intensifying. The right-wing coalition is pushing for judicial reform, while much of the left is opposing it. This divide is notable as many parties, particularly in the broad left, previously supported the separation of careers and random selection of judges. Francesco D'Uva, currently head of the Legal Affairs Department at Nazione Futura and former group leader of the 5-Star Movement, recalls that his party had previously championed the lottery system for judicial appointments. He highlights that this was in response to the Palamara scandal, which revealed links between politics and members of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (Csm) regarding appointments in various courts and prosecution offices.
