The Most Damaged Car Brands in Finland – A Surprising Top Three

Tesla leads the list of car brands with the most reported damage incidents in Finland, followed by BMW and Jaguar.

A recent report by CarVertical has revealed that Tesla vehicles top the list of car brands with the highest incidence of damage in Finland. According to the data, 36.6% of Teslas inspected in Finland have recorded at least one damage event, involving all models of the brand. No other car brand surpassed a third of their inspected vehicles reporting damage, with BMW coming closest at 32.7%, followed by Jaguar at 28.8%.

The report highlights the importance of looking at the sheer number of vehicles registered in Finland when interpreting these statistics. As of June 30, 2025, there were just over 29,000 Teslas registered across the country, a figure that has since risen above 30,000. In the context of accident reports, such numbers play a crucial role in understanding the risk associated with different brands. Comparison models like BMW and Jaguar have a similar ratio of accidents, but Tesla's increasing market presence may contribute to its high damage record.

Other brands rounding out the top five include Polestar, with 25.3% of its vehicles having experienced some form of damage, and Dodge close behind at 24.9%. These statistics provide insight into the relative durability and maintenance needs of different car brands in Finland, sparking discussion among consumers about reliability and the implications for car purchases.
