According to police reports, the 27-year-old driver of one of the minibuses claimed he was distracted by the passengers, which led him to veer into oncoming traffic during a left turn.

The collision involved a vehicle driven by a 43-year-old woman, and as a result, all seven occupants of the two minibuses sustained minor injuries. The injured included two adult supervisors, two 13-year-old boys, and a seven-year-old girl.
