Ceremony marks 35 years of Sebrae's operation in Acre
The Sebrae celebrated its 35 years of supporting small businesses in Acre with a ceremony attended by local authorities and previous directors.
The Service of Support for Micro and Small Enterprises (Sebrae) held a solemn ceremony on March 12 to celebrate its 35 years of operation in Acre, Brazil. The event was attended by various authorities, former presidents, and current staff members, reflecting on the institution's extensive contribution to the local economy. Sebrae has been instrumental in helping over 47,000 small businesses across the 22 municipalities of Acre, promoting entrepreneurship and advocating for better public policies to enhance the business environment.
Leandro Domingos, the initial superintendent of Sebrae in Acre, emphasized the challenges faced during its inception in 1991. He noted that entrepreneurship at that time required significant courage due to the lack of training and resources available. The establishment of Sebrae was a response to these challenges, with a clear mission to support and empower local entrepreneurs through education and resource provision.
As Sebrae looks forward, its ongoing commitment includes not only bolstering small businesses but also collaborating with the government to formulate policies that enrich the business landscape in Acre. The institution's efforts have had a lasting impact on economic development, and this anniversary serves as a reminder of the progress made and the work still ahead to foster a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region.
