Quaest: 56% say they have already decided their vote for president; 43% claim they may still change

A recent poll indicates that a majority of Brazilians have already made their decision on whom to vote for in the presidential election, although a significant minority remain undecided.

A poll conducted by Genial/Quaest reveals that 56% of Brazilians have already settled on their presidential candidate ahead of the elections, while 43% indicate they may still change their choice. The survey, which was conducted from March 6 to 9 with 2,004 respondents aged 16 and over, has a margin of error of 2 percentage points and a confidence level of 95%.

The findings highlight a considerable divide in voter certainty, particularly noting that over 60% of supporters for the leading candidates, Lula from the Workers' Party (PT) and Flávio Bolsonaro from the Liberal Party (PL), feel their decisions are final. The report suggests a predominant majority across all regions of Brazil have made their voting decisions, indicating a solidified electoral landscape as the elections approach.

However, the survey also uncovers interesting gender dynamics: 62% of male respondents report having their votes firmly decided, contrasting with only 49% of female respondents who display equal levels of certainty and indecision. These statistics could significantly influence campaign strategies as each candidate seeks to convert the undecided voters over the remaining weeks leading up to the election.
