Yle's information: Police Suspects Gang Leader 'Kurdicoyote' of Serious Crimes in Finland

The Finnish Central Criminal Police suspects Rawa Majid, known as 'Kurdicoyote', of major drug-related offenses connected to a case involving two young Swedish men.

The Finnish Central Criminal Police (KRP) is investigating Rawa Majid, a Swedish criminal boss known as 'Kurdicoyote', for serious drug offenses in Finland. The investigation stems from an incident where two young Swedish men were allegedly sent to Finland to distribute a significant quantity of amphetamines at the end of last year. One of the suspects is only 17 years old and his accomplice is 18.

Both men were arrested by the Helsinki District Court at the beginning of this year for severe drug offenses. During the investigation into drug distribution, additional suspects have also been detained. The alleged crimes are said to have occurred in Helsinki and Espoo late last year and in early this year, indicating a broader drug trafficking operation likely involving multiple individuals.

Criminal investigator Marko Heinonen from the KRP has confirmed that the entire case has now moved to the prosecutorial phase, with charges expected to be filed by early April. This case reflects a growing concern over organized crime and drug distribution networks in Finland, and the KRP has been actively investigating such matters since 2023, highlighting the urgency and seriousness of the situation.
