Former Dagbladet leaders take over the management of Nettavisen
Former leaders of Dagbladet are taking over management positions at Nettavisen, aiming to strengthen its competitive edge and expand its product offerings including video, audio, and AI technologies.
Amedia announced that former top executives from Dagbladet, including Beverfjord, are taking over management roles at Nettavisen. Beverfjord had previously led Dagbladet for five years and recently became the group director at Amedia. The move comes after Frode Hansen, who took over Dagbladet when Beverfjord left, stepped down unexpectedly last autumn.
With the new leadership, Beverfjord and Hansen are set to strengthen Nettavisen's position in the news industry. Beverfjord emphasized the need to enhance existing strengths and also to expand their offerings, particularly by integrating more video and audio content along with leveraging artificial intelligence. This indicates a strategic pivot towards utilizing technology to improve the news delivery experience.
Beverfjord highlighted that being part of Amedia provides Nettavisen with a unique network, which is intended to give them an edge in news coverage, live images, and podcasts. The goal is to be more aggressive in employing new technologies and artificial intelligence to stay competitive in a rapidly evolving media landscape, ensuring that Nettavisen can adapt and thrive amidst modern challenges.
