Exhibition brings together over 60 works in homage to Salvador's anniversary

An exhibition showcasing more than 60 works by Bahian artists is being held in Salvador to celebrate the city's 477th anniversary.

In honor of Salvador's 477th anniversary, a public exhibition titled 'Mostra 477 - 477 years of the City of Bahia' will run from March 20 to April 18 at the Museum of Mercy. This event features over 60 artworks created by local artists, including various artistic expressions such as photography, drawing, painting, and sculptures made from metal, wood, ceramic, and polyurethane.

The exhibition displays a rich variety of themes that reflect Salvador's history, culture, and natural beauty, aiming to showcase the diversity of the city. Notably, one of the unique pieces employs the ancient Japanese Raku technique, which combines ceramics with real gold. The artworks serve both as a celebration of Bahia's artistic heritage and as a tribute to a well-known painter and engraver from the region.

Visitors can attend the exhibition from Tuesday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, and on Saturdays from 9 AM to 4:30 PM. This initiative not only emphasizes the importance of local artists but also engages the community in celebrating their cultural identity through visual art, marking a significant milestone in Salvador's vibrant history.
