Syngrā – Fix: From the pasta factory 'Dimitra' to a 4-star hotel
The licensing process advances for converting a traditional protected building into a four-star hotel near the Museum of Modern Art in Athens.
The project to convert a traditional protected building located at 74 Syngrō Avenue into a four-star hotel has received the necessary permits to proceed. This building, which is situated near the 'Fix' Metro Station and the Museum of Modern Art, belongs to Blend Development, a company owned by the Kallitsantsis family. The development will focus on restoring the building's historical facade while upgrading it with modern amenities, including an additional floor and a rooftop pergola.
The newly envisioned hotel will span over 2,300 square meters and will feature 50 guest rooms along with two dining facilities. The restoration aims to preserve the building’s architectural integrity while enhancing its usability as a contemporary hospitality venue. This project is significant not just for improving the surrounding area but also for boosting local tourism given its proximity to cultural landmarks.
Lead by the development firm FIX Real Estate Development S.A., with Dimitris Kallitsantsis as president and his son Paris Kallitsantsis as CEO, this project reflects a broader trend of revitalizing historic structures in urban settings. It underscores the balance between maintaining cultural heritage and embracing modern commercial use, with expectations that it will attract both domestic and international visitors once completed.
