Beginning April 2, 2026, Thessaloniki will implement special Easter operating hours for shops, according to the announcement from the Thessaloniki Commerce Association (EΣΘ). This operating schedule is designed to meet the needs of both the market and consumers throughout Holy Week. The announcement also indicated that stores will remain closed on Easter Sunday, which falls on April 12, and the following Monday, April 13.

The Easter hours will vary by day, as detailed by the EΣΘ. Shops will open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Thursday and Friday (April 2 and 3), and on Saturday, April 4, they will operate from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. On Palm Sunday (April 5), the stores will be open from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The following days from Holy Monday (April 6) to Holy Thursday (April 9) will feature continuous operating hours from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, while on Good Friday (April 10), the hours will be from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The Easter Saturday schedule is also noted to begin at 10:00 AM.
