The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reportedly attempted to assassinate Ali Larijani, the head of Iran's National Security Council and a prominent figure in Iranian politics, while he was hiding in an apartment in Tehran. The airstrike was executed by the Israeli Air Force, and the IDF is currently awaiting the results of this operation, which marks an escalation in Israel's military activities against Iranian targets.

In a related operation, the Israeli Air Force also targeted and killed General Golmarza Soleimani, the commander of the Basij forces over the past six years. The Basij, part of Iran's armed forces, is known for suppressing civilian protests and conducting widespread arrests. Following the attack, the IDF announced that it had struck various regime infrastructure targets in Tehran, Shiraz, and Tabriz, aiming to hit security agency headquarters, intelligence entities, and storage sites for ballistic missiles and drones.

He emphasized that significant operational achievements were reported overnight, showcasing a continuous effort to undermine Iranian military capabilities and influence in the region.
