Ján Čurilla: Words from the Prime Minister's Press Conference Transformed into a Resolution on Our Indictment

Former investigator Ján Čurilla, under house arrest for over two years, claims that his recent indictment was influenced by comments made during a press conference by Prime Minister Robert Fico.

Ján Čurilla, a former investigator with the National Criminal Agency, has been under house arrest for more than two years after being suspended by Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok. In early March, he and his colleagues, including prosecutor Michal Šúrek, were indicted by police inspection. Prosecutor Michal Žeňuch sought custody for Čurilla and another individual, Pavol Ďurka, but his request was not submitted to the appropriate court. This indictment comes in the wake of a press conference held by Prime Minister Robert Fico, leading Čurilla to speculate on a possible connection between the two events.
