Ganga's Flow, On a Boat, and Iftar... FIR Against Muslim Youths in Varanasi
An FIR has been filed against Muslim youths in Varanasi for holding an iftar party on a boat in the Ganges, provoking communal tensions.
In Varanasi, police filed a first information report (FIR) against a group of Muslim youths for celebrating an iftar party on a boat in the holy Ganges River. This event, which took place during Ramadan, garnered attention when the youths shared videos of their gathering on social media. The complaint was lodged by Rajat Jaiswal, the president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), who alleged that the participants disrespected the river's sanctity by discarding chicken bones into the water, claiming it was an act intended to offend the sentiments of followers of Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism). Consequently, the police initiated an investigation based on this complaint.
