Cristian Pereyra, a 39-year-old teacher from Argentina, was tragically murdered while working as a driver for a rideshare app to earn extra income. The incident occurred along the Presidente Perón highway in Virrey del Pino, La Matanza, where Pereyra was shot multiple times by a passenger he had picked up. In his final moments, he managed to inform the authorities that he was a driver for Didi and that he had been robbed before succumbing to his injuries.

Authorities suspect that the principal perpetrator is a Buenos Aires police officer who was previously relieved from duty due to debts and personal issues.
