Stubb worried about the situation in the Middle East: "Now it's time to calm down"

Finnish President Alexander Stubb expresses concern over the Middle East situation and emphasizes the importance of NATO's role in maintaining peace.

President Alexander Stubb of Finland has raised alarm about the escalating crisis in the Middle East, especially in light of recent comments made by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding NATO's future. In an interview with Bloomberg in London, Stubb highlighted the need to take Trump seriously as he advocates for NATO and Asian allies to secure oil and gas transportation through the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz, which has been largely closed since the U.S. and Israel launched an attack on Iran over two weeks ago. This waterway is vital, with about a fifth of the world's oil passing through it, and Trump warned that NATO faces a "very bad" future if allies do not assist in ensuring safe passage through the strait.
