In Cascavel, Paraná, a 39-year-old man was apprehended after a dramatic police chase that ensued when he fled from a motel. The incident began when the man crashed his car into the motel's gate and then abandoned it to escape on foot. During his escape, he stole a pickup truck and drove recklessly through the streets, prompting a police pursuit as officers noted his high-speed maneuvers and dangerous driving, including running against traffic and nearly colliding with police vehicles.

The police attempted to halt the fleeing man by shooting the tires of the stolen truck; however, it was only after the suspect crashed into a concrete dumpster that he escaped into the premises of a Police Military battalion, where his attempt to evade capture came to an end. The entire sequence of events was partially captured by security cameras, underlining the chaotic nature of the pursuit.

According to the police, the suspect confessed to using drugs just prior to the incident, which may have contributed to the reckless behavior displayed throughout the chase.
