Ecuador's government has increased its crackdown on drug trafficking, resulting in the arrest of 253 individuals on the first day of intensified operations. The Interior Ministry reported that many of those detained were violating a newly imposed nightly curfew, which lasts from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. in several provinces affected by drug-related violence.
