The occupation disperses worshippers around Al-Aqsa and expels one of its guards

Israeli forces have dispersed worshippers near Al-Aqsa Mosque and expelled a guard, amid ongoing restrictions on access to the mosque.

Israeli occupation forces have forcibly dispersed dozens of Palestinian worshippers performing the Isha and Tarawih prayers around the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the night of the 17th continuous day of the mosque's closure, preventing individuals from praying inside the holy site. The Palestinian Governorate of Jerusalem stated that the occupation forces attacked worshippers near Bab Al-Sahira in occupied Jerusalem, leading to the arrest of several worshippers while using stun grenades against them. Moreover, the authorities have issued a decision expelling Al-Aqsa guard Ahmad Al-Awar from the mosque for one week, with the potential for extension. This ongoing closure aims to restrict access to Al-Aqsa Mosque under the pretext of security concerns associated with the ongoing U.S.-Israeli conflict regarding Iran. This unprecedented closure marks the first time since 1967 that worshippers are barred from performing prayers and observing I'tikaf (spiritual retreat) at Al-Aqsa, resulting in the absence of worshippers on the last Friday of Ramadan and prohibiting commemorations of Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree) within its sacred grounds.
