On Sunday, October 15th, a violent altercation between two brothers in the Ilheias Verdes settlement in Oeiras, PI, led to one of them sustaining severe injuries. The incident occurred when the suspect, named Eliomar, claimed the victim approached him with a metal bar during a heated argument. In an act of self-defense, Eliomar grabbed an axe and reportedly struck his brother in the head, resulting in critical injuries.

The victim was promptly attended to by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) and was subsequently transported to a local hospital; however, details regarding his current health status remain undisclosed. The incident was witnessed by their mother, who was present at the scene when the assault occurred. As the investigation unfolds, authorities indicated that they have yet to interview the victim due to the severity of his wounds.

The Police Military have initiated an investigation into the matter, with Eliomar being charged with grievous bodily harm.
