A tragic incident occurred in Itabatã, a district of Mucuri in southern Bahia, where a woman lost her life after the car she was in plunged into a crater on a closed street. The accident took place on the evening of Saturday, October 14, when the vehicle, driven by the woman’s husband who was under the influence of alcohol, broke through the barricade set up to keep vehicles away from the unsafe area. Emergency responders reported that the victim, identified as Maria Aparecida Santos, was found trapped beneath the vehicle, which had fallen into a stormwater trench following the fall.
