Teenager Suspected of Trafficking Runs Home Upon Seeing Police, But Is Called Out and Presented to Team by Mother

A 13-year-old boy suspected of drug trafficking in Montes Claros was presented to the police by his mother after running away upon seeing them.

In Montes Claros, a 13-year-old boy suspected of drug trafficking attempted to flee to his home when he spotted the police on patrol. According to information from the Military Police, the boy was reportedly selling drugs in the area around Avenida Leonel Beirão de Jesus, and was also suspected of hiding a firearm for another drug dealer. This incident occurred during a patrol by the Specialized Recovery Group (GER) after receiving tips about the boy's activities.

The police arrived at the identified location and found the teenager. Upon noticing the presence of law enforcement officers, he entered a nearby house in an attempt to escape. However, when the police knocked on the door, the boy's mother answered and informed them that her son had just entered the house. She subsequently called for him to come out and presented him to the police, demonstrating a level of cooperation with law enforcement.

During the questioning, the minor admitted his involvement with drug trafficking. This situation raises concerns about youth involvement in drug-related activities and the role of families in dealing with such issues. The incident highlights broader societal challenges regarding drug abuse and crime among adolescents in Brazil, necessitating community engagement and preventive measures to address these alarming trends.
