Sérgio Rocha assumes the presidency of the Health Ethics Institute

Sérgio Rocha, an experienced administrator and specialist in hospital management, has taken on the role of president at the Health Ethics Institute (IES), a non-profit organization focused on promoting ethics and transparency within Brazil's healthcare supply chain. Founded in 2015, the IES works alongside federal and state governments, regulatory agencies, and the public to establish self-regulatory guidelines, integrity programs, and fraud prevention mechanisms.

With an extensive 46-year career in the health sector, Rocha brings a wealth of knowledge to his new position. He holds degrees in Business Administration and Education, along with postgraduate qualifications in Hospital Administration, and has also served as a statistics professor. His leadership background includes serving as the president of the Administrative Council of the Brazilian Association of Importers and Distributors of Health Products (ABRAIDI) since 2017, and being part of the board of the Brazilian Alliance for Innovative Health Industry (ABIIS).

Rocha's appointment is significant in the context of Brazil's ongoing challenges regarding healthcare ethics and transparency.
