The municipality of Quilmes has announced the construction of a new interchange on the Buenos Aires-La Plata Highway to improve connectivity and ease congestion.
The municipality of Quilmes has officially announced the commencement of construction on a new interchange for the Buenos Aires-La Plata Highway located in Ezpeleta. This significant infrastructure project aims to enhance the connectivity of the district and alleviate traffic congestion currently experienced at nearby access points. In particular, the initiative focuses on improving mobility on the section between the Iriarte Avenue exit in Quilmes and the 14 Avenue access in Berazategui.
The announcement was made during a meeting attended by local residents and business owners at the "Barrio Ferroviario y Naval" Senior Citizens' Center, where details of the project were shared. This new access point to the highway is set to be built on Florencio Varela Avenue, at kilometer 26 of the highway. Officials expressed their enthusiasm about signing a crucial agreement with AUBASA, which will be instrumental in the realization of this long-awaited interchange, highlighting that the project is a historic achievement after decades of community requests for better access to the highway.
As the construction begins, it is expected to bring relief to many local drivers who have long struggled with traffic bottlenecks in the area. Improved access to major highways like the Buenos Aires-La Plata Highway is essential for both local commuting and the economic development of Quilmes and its neighboring districts. This project not only aims to enhance immediate traffic conditions but also reflects a broader commitment to upgrading local infrastructure and addressing the needs of the community at large.
