"Children Are Coming Up with All Kinds of Jokes, Ghosts." A New Animated Series for Children "Kitty"

A new animated series called 'Kitty' features the voice of seven-year-old Dārta and is inspired by her mother's childhood stories and Dārta's playful imagination.

The new animated series 'Kitty' has been created with the vibrant voice of seven-year-old Dārta, who also serves as an inspiration for its content. Her mother, writer Inga Kuncīte, developed the series idea four years ago by mixing her daughter's playful texts and antics into humorous stories. Kuncīte highlights her daughter’s endless curiosity and joy for play, which have influenced the creation of relatable and imaginative tales for children.

The central character of the series, Dacīte, is a reflection of children's boredom and creativity, finding entertainment through her imagination. The show brings to life the adventures of Dacīte as she interacts with the character of a cat and transforms her surroundings through her imaginative play. This premise encourages children to explore their creativity and the importance of play in their lives.

Director Roberts Heize notes that the narrative was vividly inspiring, leading him to create the animation as his first major project, having previously worked only with illustrations and animated advertisements. His commitment to the project showcases the potential for stories grounded in personal experiences to resonate with a broader audience, especially within the realm of children's entertainment.
