The 20-year-old central defender, who is a product of Panathinaikos' youth academy, was loaned out to Levadiakos in August 2024 for two years; however, Levadiakos decided to terminate his loan, allowing Katrinis to return to Panathinaikos in early January.

The official announcement by Panathinaikos stated, "Georgios Katrinis has signed a new contract that is valid until June 2030." Katrinis joined the Panathinaikos academy in 2021 before turning 16 and signed his first professional contract in the summer of 2023. He then signed a second contract with the club in 2024 after having spent a season in Super League 2 with Panathinaikos B.
