Eduardo José Gómez, a 53-year-old taxi driver from San Justo, was fatally shot in a brazen robbery while walking to work. His partner had asked him to wait for a colleague due to safety concerns, but he decided to leave alone, only to be confronted by two motorcycle thieves within minutes. The incident, which happened early on a Sunday morning, was captured on security camera footage showing Gómez attempting to defend himself before he was shot in the leg.

The footage reveals a harrowing struggle as Gómez tried to fend off one of the assailants armed with a stick or rod. Despite being shot, he managed to get back on his feet, but tragically succumbed to his injuries just moments later as he collapsed on the street. The attackers fled the scene with Gómez's bag and cellphone, leaving the family of the victim shattered, including his 21-year-old son who is now without a father.
