Czechs have called up a young Englishman for the football qualifiers. The coach praises his potential.

Czech U21 coach Michal Bílek has called up English defender Filip Lissah alongside three other newcomers for upcoming Euro 2027 qualifiers against Scotland and Gibraltar, citing Lissah's impressive performances in Scotland.

Czech Republic's U21 football coach, Michal Bílek, has announced a new squad for the upcoming Euro 2027 qualifiers. This includes four debutants, notably English defender Filip Lissah, who is also a Czech passport holder. The inclusion of Lissah comes at a time when the team is missing several long-term injured players, prompting the need for fresh talent to bolster the squad. Alongside Lissah, goalkeeper Adam Dvořák and two other players from domestic clubs have been selected for their first appearances in the national team.

Lissah has had a solid season in the Scottish Premiership, participating in 22 matches and scoring two goals, which has impressed the coaching staff. Coach Bílek highlighted Lissah's performance, stating that he plays effectively as both a right-back and a center-back, and he has demonstrated his ability to tackle strongly as well as contribute in offensive plays. This marks Lissah as a player to watch, particularly as he represents the growing trend of foreign players with Czech roots being integrated into the national team setup.
