Muscat and Cairo emphasize the necessity of unifying efforts to stop escalation in the region

Oman and Egypt's leaders stress the importance of regional and international cooperation to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East.

On Monday, Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Atti underscored the need for regional and international efforts to contain tensions and calm the situation in the Middle East. This meeting took place amid ongoing conflicts in the region and reiterated the significance of collective action to promote security and stability both regionally and globally.

During their discussions, they reviewed the current developments affecting the region and highlighted the critical role of unity among nations in addressing the escalating crises. The dialogue focused on the necessity for immediate action to halt military operations targeting neighboring Arab countries, showcasing a commitment to peace and regional cooperation. Moreover, this meeting is part of a broader diplomatic initiative by Egypt, with the Foreign Minister's regional tour that started in Qatar and the UAE, aiming to bring a message of solidarity to countries affected by Iranian aggression since the onset of the American-Israeli conflict on February 28 of last year.
